Official Rules - Bonus Points for Existing Students

Existing students will receive additional points for each subject in which they were enrolled as of the Cosmic Club start date of June 21, 2000.

Enrollment date prior to June 21, 2000 Points
1 - 6 months 3
7 - 12 months 5
13 months or higher 10

Each existing student will fall into exactly one category for each subject and the points will be calculated based upon the student's length of enrollment at the time of the Cosmic Club's start date of June 21, 2000 and may be earned only once.

• For the purpose of determining "G by 5" points only, existing students means those students who were (i) in grade 5 or below during the 1999-2000 school year and (ii) are studying in level G or higher in math or reading as of August 20, 2000, or kokugo as of August 20, 2003.

• For the purpose of determining advanced study points only, existing students means those individuals with an enrollment date in math, reading, and/or kokugo as of August 20, 2000 or after. Existing students who have already met advanced honor roll status and advanced study of two or three years ahead of grade level in math, reading, and/or kokugo will be credited cumulative points for their advanced study. Therefore, existing students may be eligible for a maximum of 22 points for advanced study (5 for Honor Roll + 7 for two years advanced student + 10 for three years advanced study).

Starting in January 2011, students will be allowed a period of absence not to exceed one month per calendar year. Students reported as absent for more than one month in a given calendar year will be considered un-enrolled students, and a registration fee will be assessed when re-enrolling. Also, such students will forfeit any accumulated Cosmic Club points and start with a zero balance should they re-enroll. (Note: Multi-Subject Students remaining enrolled in at least one subject will not be affected by this policy. However, a multi-subject student would be considered un-enrolled if he or she had already previously been reported as absent in each subject earlier in the year, and subsequently was un-enrolled from both subjects in the same month.)
